In loving memory of a dear friend. My condolences to the family of a wonderful person, I shall forever remember his gentle voice and beautiful smile. Many years ago, Johnny welcomed the youth choir into his home to sing Christmas Carols to his mother, Mrs. Ethel Dash, who joined the youth in song. In addition, Johnny supported the foundation, The Finley Dowling Memorial Foundation and was a member of the Magnolia Umbra Cemetery Association. I salute a great man. Rachel Naomi Dowling...

The Refreshing Springs Kingdom Outreach Ministries would like to take time to extend our most heartfelt sympathies to you. We cannot begin to imagine the depth of your loss. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. With warm regards, Melissa Weeks-Richardson, Pastor

Being new to Charleston he had many stories to share of his younger years here. The last year my seeing him outside was not as frequent and our visits fewer. I did get to drop by and see him his last day...

Uncle Johnny enjoyed his visit to the International African American Museum (IAAM) in Charleston on March 8th, seven days before his death.
