John was one of those people that when he called or came to the back yard, no matter how busy you were, you put what you were doing aside to spend time with John simply because John was one of those people who were just enjoyable to be with. I have hundreds of great memories that I will never forget. I consider myself very lucky to call Big John my friend. By the way ... did you know he was a Notre Dame grad?

I was fortunate to have met John through my wife´s friendship with his daughter Beth. I spent time at his Sea Girt home and some time together celebrating Easter and his 80fh birthday in Fla and traveled with him a bit in Europe .His dedication to his family was obvious He was a fascinating man and the essence of a gentleman
