Not sure what to say?

Hello-I was recently re-found some of my Expos 15 papers and had such a lovely time remembering Dr de Cuevas. His funny, encouraging comments and insights set me on a path of endless linguistic curiosity and I chose Lingustics as my major on the spot. He made such an amazingly amazingly positive impact on my life, and I just wanted to let his dear ones know that he is still being thought with a smile more than 30 years later...

I'll never stop missing John, who knew how to enjoy life.

I have enjoyed John's cryptographic crosswords for many years. They are my favorite puzzles. I never met John, but I wish I had known him. I feel like I've lost a friend.

John was an advisor and mentor to me when I was a student at Lesley College. We became friends and our friendship lasted for many years. I absolutely loved our long conversations exploring the mysteries of life. He had a wonderfully curious mind and a gentle heart. He believed in me and my endeavors and encouraged me as I went along in life. I will miss him dearly.

John was a magnificent human being. His passion was finding others who wanted to make a difference in the world -- especially through teaching -- and helping them achieve their dreams. Through his wisdom, his kindness, his generosity, and his humanity he touched hundreds of lives directly, and through them, many thousands more. John was sui generis, and will be deeply missed.
