John M. De Graaf

I was checking the obituaries and when it gave me the list, Mr. DeGraaf was at the top of the list. I was so surprised to see his face! I had him for a math teacher in middle school, JUNIOR HIGH back then!! He was the kindest person!! So genuine in his faith!! I´m sure he will be missed by everyone who was close to him!! To the DeGraaf family: We were shocked to hear of Uncle John's passing. He and Aunt Alieda served as the Master and Mistress of Ceremonies at our wedding in June, 1972. We also remember the weekends he spent helping Dad paint our house on 68th St. in Allendale and those Thanksgiving trips to DeMotte. Uncle John also graciously opened their home to the DeGraaf clan on new Year's Dy for a number of years. Barb and I will not be able to attend the viewing or funeral due to Barb's inability...

John has a special way of reading devotions with perfect inflection. It calmed the soul. If you've been around at meals you sure know what it's like listening to him read. He also loved the electric turkey knife. Dinners were always blessed by God and spot on delicious. He raised the most well mannered flock ever. Miss you John

My sympathy to family. Mr. De Graaf was kind and caring, always warm in relating to others. One memory is camping with family and walking the Mackinac Bridge on Labor Day. Lin

John Degraaf was a teacher of mine for 3 years at Millbrook Christian Junior High School. I remember John as a caring teacher. Several times over the years I ran into John. We enjoyed reminiscing about the good times at Millbrook chr. School. Thank You Mr. De Graaf for your many years of inspiration. Doug Mast
