Not sure what to say?

I also knew Sylvester Deegan. He was a great man.He was a ''glass blower'' for Corning Glass. In the summers, they came next door to the Miller(our summer house)at least once a week.John had 2 billiard rooms at the Ossining Wardens house. When we were eating dinner,John kept stepping on the buzzer under the table, and the staff kept coming in to see what John wanted. He just said:I always keep doing that.I was 12,and thought that was really funny.John took my Dad and brother Billy...

He had my family as guests at Sing Sing.He asked my grandmother,Anna Miller, for his hand in marriage after my grandfather passed away.He left his home on Owasco Lake to my grandmother's daughter;Janet Miller Waters.

I grew up on Rockefeller Road/Owasco Lake right above John and Sylvesters house. There was a big field that ran from their house to Rockefeller Road and we used to play in it.I think it is still an empty field today. The Deegans also let my Dad plant a large garden there each year next to our house. This was the 1940's thru the 60's. My parents sold our home in the 1980's. Both Deegans were wonderful to us.
I always liked their house alot too.
God Bless you John.

I will indeed miss John. I first meet him in the late 1970's when I began searching my family tree in Auburn. We shared many laughs and lunches as well as a last name. He was a true Kildare man.

I was fortunate to talk to John recently after many years. He sounded so clear. He and my father were very good lifelong friends. When John was transfered from Sing Sing to Auburn, we helped him move his valuables. John had his assistant give me a tour of the prison at Sing Sing.People like John and those memories you never forget.
Rest in Peace, John
