Not sure what to say?

To John's sisters. I just heard of John's death from Jane Milton Cowles. I am very very saddened by it. He was a fine person. I saw him occasionally at parties here (I live in FL now) and always enjoyed our conversations. He was one of my childhood friends. I will miss him.

Sally Jones Brodie

I am so sad to hear this, we grew up together and played together as children. Hadn't seen him in years, but have so many wonderful memories and want to extend my sincerest sympathies to his sisters and families.

Johnny and I were friends since elementary school. There was group of about half a dozen of us who virtually lived at his house right up college. His parents always made us feel welcome. John you will be sorely missed. Rest well my friend!
James Duncan Gaynor

John wasn't just a guest at Madigans Waterfront, he was a wonderful friend. I always learned something new during our conversations. He will be truly missed.

John was one of the best regulars Monique and I have ever had the last 5 years at Madigans Waterfront. Our conversation's every week will be dearly missed.

He was one of my favorite teachers ever!! May have been the only one I learned any history from. He and Rod Woods taught my 8th grade class. Not to deny the good teachers I had up to that point but having 2 young men was a very different experience. I loved 8th grade because of them.

From being a great roommate to being a fabulous European guide, to being a welcome companion on many of our birthdays, John was a wonderful friend for 45 years. I will miss him. - J. C. McElveen

John was our dearest friend, he was a mentor to our children who loved him. We will miss him. Karen Dotson and Donna Clutter Kafer ( Webster Springs, West Virginia)

John was a very good friend to my parents (Wayne Clutter and Donna Clutter Kafer) Truly a gentleman and very kind. So sorry for your loss.
