The River's Forty Eigth mile - Ode to John
Sittin' on the bank of the River,
Watchin' yourself float by,
Hearin' the trees rustle in the breeze,
Autumn's weather makes you high...
Leanin' right back in your armchair,
Lookin' up at the sky,
Feelin' alright with your Family and Friends,
Hopin' some more come by...
Cause the River is where we gather, Everyone with a smile,
Feelin' so good like you knew you would,
On the River's Forty Eigth mile...
The Creek flows into the River,
The River flows into the Sea,
The Sea spreads out like arms held out,
To hold the World happily...
The World is what we make it,
No-one can tell us how,
It's the Life that we Live,
The Love that we Give,
It's the Peace we'll all feel now...
Cause the River is where we gather,
Everyone with a smile,
Feelin' so good like you knew you would,
On the River's Forty Eigth mile.
