Abraham Lincoln: "The better part of one's life consists of his friendships." I shared that quote with John in a note to him on the occasion of his move to Colorado. John was clearly moved by those words. But it was me that was better for having known John. John always gave more than he received.

John was our ski coach in the early 60's, when the NM ski team went to Sun Valley for the biggest race of our young careers. He was tough, yet most compassionate with we young pups. We learned a lot from him; he was our hero.

Jackie,
I met John through our affiliation with Go Nuclear, Inc. John was instrumental in helping this organization grow. His participation on our board brought knowledge, experience, passion, kindness and a remarkable humbleness to each meeting. The effect such a person leaves, long after, is powerful and good. My colleagues and I celebrate his wonderful life, remembering John with great admiration. We wish your family all of God's comfort during this difficult time.
