Not sure what to say?

To Anne & family, you have our condolences. You must have been very proud of your dad and his accomplishments. I would especially like the fife & drum corps. I know you will still think of him & want to call him.

As one of the many vendors who called on John, I can assure you that he always was kind and a true gentleman. He was a genuine favorite and will be greatly missed. God Bless.

Laura we are so sorry for your loss our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Anne, Larry, Clint, & Bill. We are with you in this time of sorrow & reflection. Lots of thoughts, happy & sad, will pass through your minds for many days to come. Dwell on the positive. Rodney, you've lost a great father-in-law. Wish we could be there in person.

My mother, who was Florence Winner back then, grew up in the same North St. Louis neighborhood as John R. Dengler. They were about the same age, so they attended Beaumont High School at the same time. Mom remembers walking down the street and hearing music coming from the Dengler home as John practiced his horn. (I think she said it was a trumpet.)
A generation later, I worked with John R. Dengler's son at The St. Louis Globe-Democrat. John, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I am also so...

Anne and Rodney:

Dean and I would like to express our condolences to you and your entire family. It is so difficult when you lose a loved one and we pray that God will bestow upon you and your entire family His grace during this difficult time. Please let us know if there is anything at all that we can do for you during your time of loss.

My father knew Mr. Dengler when he had his shop in the Boatman's Bank Building. They were two of a kind - always ready to talk and they never met a stranger. When my father passed away a few years ago, Mr. Dengler wrote a very nice note to my mother. I stopped by his shop in St. Charles to thank him for the gesture. My mother and sisters would often drop by just to say "Hi" to him when shopping on Main Street. He was a gentleman of outstanding character.

Although it's been many, many years, I remember John as a gracious and quite dapper man. My mom (Re Lydon) always spoke so very highly of him.

God bless all of you.

My condolences to the entire Dingler family. I did not know John personally, but have heard from gentlemen I respect that John was one of the finest. God bless.
