Not sure what to say?

We all were so shocked and terribly saddened to hear of John's death. Adela and I want to send our deepest condolences to ALL of his family. We pray that God's grace, peace and comfort are with you all during this most difficult time, especiall after what you all have been through!!

We had the pleasure of knowing John for only 14 short months. I am his receptionist and friend at the salon where he was part owner. He was not only my employer, but was our equal.

At closing...

I am so sorry to hear this news about John. It's been years since I've seen him, having moved from NY in 1995, but I remember well his relaxed, warm and sometimes ironic sense of humor. Also the many compliments I would get on my hair! My deepest condolences to Bob and family.

I am shocked and deeply saddened by the news of John's sudden death. I last saw him on July 30th for a haircut and he was great - funny and sweet as always, and of course he gave me a fabulous haircut! I was his last appointment that day and we lingered, chatting a lot about hair (what else!) and our summer vacations. I can't believe he is gone. He was such a sweet and lovely person. I will miss him very much, not just as a hairdresser but as a friend. John cut my hair for over 10 years...

My deepest condolences to John's family and friends. He was such a sweet, caring, kind person. Although I haven't seen John often over the last few years, I am heartbroken over his death.

I AM PROUD AND FORTUNATE TO HAVE KNOWN JOHN AND TO HAVE CALLED HIM MY FRIEND!

John was a beloved friend for the 20+ years that I knew him. When I first met him, he cut my hair downstairs from his apartment on Renwick St... and I followed him around faithfully from the very first time... depite the fact that I haven't worked in the city for many years. I used to joke that I would follow him to wherever he chose to retire to, as long as he would cut my hair in his kitchen. John loved Bob and his family, and talked about them all the time. I looked forward to our...

My sister, Amy, was a client and friend of John’s for more than 17 years. She lives in New Jersey, and started going to John’s salon when she worked in New York City. Although she stopped working in NY about 7 years ago, she continued going into the city once a month to have John do her hair. Although Amy commented that “she hasn’t had a bad hair day in 17 years”, John was more than just a phenomenal hair stylist to Amy: he was truly her friend. They shared stories about family,...

I was so sad to read of the passing of John. I worked with him when I first became a hairstylist 35 years ago at Sibley's in Downtown Syracuse. He was a great support & wonderful friend. John was always smiling and very compassionate. I feel lucky to have known him. No doubt he will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. My deepest sympathy to his loved ones.
