Not sure what to say?

Had a dream about you last night in the 5th grade classroom at Smith Avenue. I talk about you often and how you changed my life. I taught for over 30 years in science. Finished as a AP physics and physics teacher in high school as well as Environmental Science I attribute all that to you. Thank you.

Still think often of Mr DeStefano, you are why I went into science and became a science teacher. You were the best teacher and role model I ever had.

I am constantly reminded how much of an impact Mr.DeStefano has had on me over the years. Heaven certainly gained the perfect guardian angel. To his family, god bless you for sharing him with all of us when we needed him

It´s been a year since Mr.Destefano´s passing and I still reminisce of the time I had with him as a teacher and principal. I will post on this site until I can´t every year. He is a soul who will never be forgotten and still admired as the years pass. Much love to his family for letting us share him.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the John J. DeStefano family. I harbor fond memories of both John and Betty originating in the mid-1950s as I apprenticed alongside John as we worked together at Ferry Bros. Market during our early formative years. John was a superb mentor role model for me in teenage years resulting in a pursuit of collegiate education and for this I have been forever grateful. Over the years our paths took only a slightly different course but the values of family,...

Jeanne and I want to express our deepest sympathy to Betty and her family in the passing of one of the greatest men on the planet. May John rest in peace. We're sure he's organizing things in Heaven If someone could pass this on to Betty in case she does not see this, we are trying to reach her but unfortunately don't have her current address. John was a wonderful, dedicated educator and such a kind and caring person. He touched the lives of so many young people and colleagues during his years in NPS. I had the pleasure of working with him on the district science committee and so enjoyed when he´d bring his Huntington kids up to play basketball with my Moriarty kids. He was such a compassionate leader, always willing to go the extra mile, always with a smile, for his students, staff and colleagues. My condolences to the DeStefano...

I was so sad to read of John´s passing. Please accept my sincere condolences. John was the president of the administrator´s union when I was president of the Norwich Teacher´s League. We would collaborate together on appropriate issues. He was the greatest ally and support. I had the utmost respect for him as an educator, union leader, and a human being. John was the kind of person we should all strive to be. RIP John. You have earned your angel wings.

He was a person that dedicated his life to being an Educator, he gave his time freely so students had the opportunity not only to participate in after school activities but he made them all feel that they were special and the "nicknames" he came up for everybody made them feel even more important. I also enjoyed our Friday night basketball games. The extent of his influence on his students probably never be known, I know the effect he had on my children and me. Rest in peace my friend. Paul...
