Not sure what to say?

We are sorry to have learned of Coach DeVore's passing only recently, missing the funeral. Coach Devore would be proud of his 2 students of the Lively family, both of whom have gone on to pitch in college. His knowledge and wisdom in helping them will be remembered for a lifetime by my boys. I am sure they are not the only ones who will remember his teachings, but all those who had the pleasure of learning baseball from him. I'm sure God got himself a great pitching coach. R.I.P....

Coach D...It was such an honor to be coached by the best. You taught me so much in the few years we had the softball program. You were an amazing person, coach, and mentor. I know that you would want to know that I'm instilling the skills that I learned from you into my daughter and so your coaching still continues, and that is a great way for me to remember you.

Left to Right: Coach DeVore, Will Jackson and Catcher.

The Jackson Family was so sorry to hear about the passing of Coach DeVore. He was truly a great person and pitching coach who inspired many who had the chance to know him. My son Will worked with Coach DeVore who is also a RHP and they both bonded well together while throwing a bullpen. Will always told me he felt great after throwing a bullpen with Coach DeVore and how much he learned from his lesson. My son Will is going to pitch for Georgia College and we are grateful for the...

I was lucky enough to have received lessons from Coach Devore when I was only 13. Although it has been many years since my last lesson with him, his knowledge of the game guided me throughout my career in baseball and still remains with me today. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing and I consider myself truly blessed to have known such a great man. I only hope that I can pass on to my students the things that Coach Devore taught me. He will be deeply missed and our prayers are...

Coach Devore was an exceptional teacher of baseball and life. I hope Coach DeVore is telling jokes in heaven. May God Bless the Devore Family.

I had the rare privilege of being a student and player and later a fellow teacher and coach with coach Devore.. He was always teaching coaching, and mentoring 24 hours a day. When my son became 12 and playing ball . I drove up from Brunswick and he gave him pitching lessons later on in high school I called him every spring for advice. Coach Devore had an open door policy you could talk to him any time. He taught me work ethic and pride in what your doing . He taught me how to be a better man....

I only today learned of John's passing. Am truly sorry to hear of this - remember him and you when he was playing ball with Coach Tom D'Armi at West GA College and the visits he and his coach and other team members made to our house in Atlanta. My dad always thought that John was one of the best ball players he had ever seen. Dad always enjoyed umpiring when he knew John was pitching. Know that they are having a conversation and remembering all their fond times, games and friends. Will...

Words of Wisdom from a Great Man....

I just recently heard of Coach DeVore's passing, all I can say is the world has lost one of the best and genuine people ever; however, heaven has gained a true angel. I had the honor of having Coach DeVore as my 8th grade GA history teacher at Shamrock High School in '91. On that very first day he gave all of us a card (a card I believe he gave to all his new students). "Success is determined by the amount of work you put into it." and "Give Life 105%." I have managed to keep that card in...
