Father John had a huge influence on my life as part of the Catholic Register. I worked with him at the Register right after I graduated from the Academy of Our Lady. He was such a gentle person, truly concerned about others and devoted to his vocation. Not only that but he played a pretty good guitar!!! I use to sing 8:00 daily Mass at St. Joseph's for Fr. Dietzen during those years and attending his Mass was a fantastic way to start my day. He was dedicated to Pre-Cana and worked...

This man will be greatly missed. His caring, his concern, his laughter, his thoughtfulness will leave a great void in many lives. As for me, I'll carry his spirit close to my heart. His influence has been felt deeply by many. His legacy will continue in all who were lucky enough to know him. This holy man was a shining beacon to all of us. He empowered the laity, and stood up for Jesus and his Church, always in the most gentle and humble manner. We were graced to have him with us. May the Lord give us more men like John Dietzen.
