John James DiGangi, age 58, passed away peacefully in his apartment, in Staten Island, New York on June 3, 2020. A Christian and faithful believer in Jesus Christ- Heaven gained a beautiful Angel on the day he passed.

John was born on September 26, 1961, in Astoria Queens, New York to his late parents Mr. Edward and Mrs. Antonia DiGangi.

John, in the words of his first-born son Jonathan, had a “Heart of Gold”. Not a perfect man, but a man who truly loved and cherished his children and entire family.

John is survived by his family who love and will miss him beyond what any words can express. His three children, beloved sons Jonathan and Edward (Eddie) and beautiful daughter Megan. John had two Grandchildren- grandson Lorenzo age 4 ½ and granddaughter Eulyn, age 1. Johns beloved daughter was also pregnant with his third grandchild when he passed away, he was so excited to be a Grandfather again. He is also survived by his brother Edward DiGangi and sister Antonia (Toto) DiGangi to whom he loved and will be so missed by.

John had a huge heart, contagious smile and positive attitude about life. He always tried to put his family first, loved family get togethers and great home cooked dinners with his family. John enjoyed oldies music, singing, playing the guitar, watching movies and playing pool.

Most importantly- he loved the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and family.

John loved telling stories about life and having talks with his children to whom he loved giving advice about life to. John worked as a Carpenter and could be considered a “Jack of all trades….Master of none. Although born in New York- he lived in many states including Nevada and Florida and loved to travel. John DiGangi will be missed by his surviving children, grandchildren and family.

Gone too soon but never will he be forgotten. The goal of his 3 children is to live out his Legacy and it gives them great peace knowing he is now in Heaven with the two people he loved so dearly- his parents Mr. Edward and Mrs. Antonia DiGangi.

Not sure what to say?

I knew John very well. We went to Tottenville HS together. “DiGang”, as we called him was a great guy with a big heart. We hung out every day, never seemed to make it into class even though it was freezing out. I was only wearing my leather jacket at the time when Johnny boy said, “wear my jacket for today if you’re cold” We switched coats for that day.. It was back in 1977 or 1978, Im not sure. The point is, he was a good friend. He contacted me about 2 years ago through a facebook...

Love and miss you Dad. Your always in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong for me.

Love and miss you my father!
See you on the other side my friend.
