Dear Family,

I was shocked and saddened when I heard of your tragic loss. I have not seen your son in many years. My memory of him was of a sweet, little, blonde haired boy that was very bright and did not meet a stranger.

Although, your pain is unrelenting, in time you will cherish the memories and contributions of the man that was your son.

Celebrate his life and how he lived every chance you get. My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

Thinking of you.

Dean Lee (Aunt Virgie's neice)

Died as he lived. showing an act of kindness. His family can be proud. While I had not seen Johnny for many years, I do remember how special he was. He was one of the good ones! My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family.

I wish I had known you. I will see you in Heaven.

My heart goes out to Mr. Dollar's family. I was in his class this last summer. He was truly a wonderful teacher. One could only hope that all professors have the level of dedication he put forth for his students, faculty, and organization. He will be greatly missed.

The news of Johnny's death stopped me in my tracks and took my breath away. I met Johnny when I and two partners started the Neighborhood Journal in Beebe, Arkansas. That was in 1997. He was a joy to be around and a huge help to three neophyte journalist in over their heads trying to run a weekly newspaper. He will be sorely missed. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family.

I didn't know Johnny personally, but it saddens me to hear of such a tradegy especially when such a wonderful person died while performing such a selfless act. I feel sure that he will have a special place in Heaven for his kindness and compassion. An angel has gone home to be with his Creator. I pray that his family will find peace during such a difficult time.

I am so sorry about Mr. Dollar's passing. I was working in the ER the night Mr. Dollar was flown in. On behalf of my co-workers at Baptist Health Emergency Room, we are all affected by this tragedy. Words cannot convey my sorrow for his daughters, and wife. He was an incredible man and you should know he will not be forgotten. God Bless You!
