Not sure what to say?

The thoughts behind my entry of September 27, 2021 grow stronger with each passing year. God bless you Johnny Donahey! Dick

I miss you ....

Johnny was my best boyhood friend, whether in Hudson or in Shaker Heights (where I lived). We "fought" the Japanese and the Nazis in World War II, went on countless hiking adventures with .22 cal airguns in hand, delved into haunted (and abandoned) Hudson homes, participated in all the Hudson festivals, and spent hours conversing about history, antiques and anticipated future adventures. I loved Aunt Gertrude and Uncle John as I loved my own parents, Alice and Earl Hoover. Not a day goes by...

Although I have not seen my cousin Johnny for over 20 years, I have very fond memories of my only male cousin who did not tease me constantly when I was little. Thank you John for being such a warm and sweet and good person. I was saddened to hear of your death. Tell Uncle John, Aunt Gertie, Aunt Marion, Aunt Erma, Uncle Jim, all my other aunts and uncles, and my own beloved Dad, that I love and miss them all. Roxie

We will always remember you and yours.

My Dad (Scamp McMillan) sent me this also. I grew up with Albert and was saddened to hear of his Dad's passing. Albert as with Steve I remember the good times that we had at your house with your Dad. We were part of the Coral Way/Sand Pine Crew! Whew! My thoughts and prayers are with you!

John was my first cousin and I remember times at Grandma's house in New Phili and at their house in Columbus. I got to know John once again as an adult when he, Jeannie and Robin had a place in Santee, SC - and his laugh always made you smile and I loved listening to him sing. This blessing is for you:
IRISH BLESSING
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields....

I met John through his stepdaughter Paula and his wife Jeanne. I will alway remember his smile and his laughter and will never forget his famous Bloody Mary's. In my mind and thoughts forever John. Love, Lorraine

Sorry I couldn't make it down there, but I will see you and Robin soon. John will always be rememberd by Mike,Amanda and Diana who showed her how to play the piano. John is with his parents now. take care, love your daughter Donna.
