I just saw this. We really lost track. I was a colleague of John's for 12 years before he hired me away and changed my life having me move from St. Louis to Seattle to work for him for another nine years. He was a very good boss - treated his employees like professionals with a classy personal touch. He truly cared for all of us and gave us good advice. I've missed him and his wisdom.

John and I shared the same birthday. We met in 1957 at Scott Air Force Base. He was 18, I was 20. One weekend we hitchhiked to Kansas City to my parents' home and back. After tech school we went to Okinawa. I have a great photo of us together in Naha. We were good friends for such a short time. After I returned to the U.S. we lost touch, but I never forgot John Laxton Dorian.
