Dr. John B. Dorian

Dr Dorian was our family doctor for years. We moved to Frayser in 1955 from Indiana. I remember my parents discussing going to a new, young doctor that had opened an office in Frayser. Best decision ever to go to him! He made house calls in middle of night for my grandfather who had bladder cancer when necessary. He sewed up an artery on my Dad from exploded glass Coke bottle, among the other various things our family incurred. We all loved his kind, gentle nature and miraculous healing both...

I remember him delivering me in Nov of 1857. Yes, I know it sounds insane, but he was told this when I was 4 or 5 when my mother was sitting with me in his office. He looked surprised but it was true.

We had the great pleasure of meeting Dr John through our daughter Sheridan who was a Child Life Specialist at St Jude where John volunteered in her area. My husband golfed with him on several occasions and he even took us to the clubhouse and insisted we have Brady Alexander´s after our dinner. Fabulous man.

Your father, Dr. John, as I knew him was a very special man. I worked as a child life specialist at St Jude from 2003-2006 and during that time he was one of my very favorite volunteers on my unit. John's cheerful demeanor, sense of humor, and bright smile always brightened the children's day. He was a true master at calming restless infants. Your dad helped so many people in his lifetime combat the unexpected changes in life and health. He served in the armed services. He always approached people with a gentleness. He has a special place in heaven. He has a beautiful family to carry on his legacy. And....... He lived an amazing, interesting and long life. He meant a lot to many people.

So sorry to hear of Dr. Dorian's passing away, he was a wonder doctor for our family, for the years we lived in Frayser. He will be long remembered and blessings for the family.

Dr. Dorian our doctor when we lived in Frayser. He was still our doctor when we moved out to Shelby Forest in 1968. I remember him as a very calm and soft spoken man. Even tho I hadn´t seen Dr. Dorian in many years, I thought of him every so often and I thought of him yesterday and decided to look him up today. I´m sorry to see that he passed away.
