Not sure what to say?

God bless you, and all those you've touched with your love .

Upon the death of our dear Buddy and Pop pop, I never read these posts and memories. I am reading them all now and I am smiling because he was so loved and respected by so many. Such a good good man Father Dowling was and I appreciate that everyone knew that, he would be so happy to know he is remembered and honored by all.

Jack, Kay, Tom & Rich at 2015 NJ Reunion

So many fond memories of Fr Dowling and others at St Joe's in '50-60s. His caring during the illness & loss of our sister, Anne Marie, and friendship with our late parents, Johnny & Mary was special.

Father Dowling will always be in my Heart, he helped me thru the loss of my husband in 1964. I met him in the confessional and he counseled me thru it, Always had time for me & gave me strength & courage. I had 3 small children at the time, 9,7,3 years of age. I will never forget how kind & caring he was. May he rest in peace & be home with our Lord. Sincere condolences to all his Family.

I too was a student at St. Joseph's School, in the second grade, when Fr.Dowling came. I think he gave me my first communion.

I have only seen him once since I left NJ; it was about 15 years ago and a friend and I were driving around revisiting old memories in Roselle. He was getting our of his cr to enter the rectory and we stopped and said hello. He remeambered us. What an honor.

Father Doling has always remained in my heart for over 50 years.

I made my First Holy Communion and my first confession with Father Dowling. He was kind and understanding. In my mind a Priest in the highest sense of the word.
The world is a better place because of him.

I remember Fr. Dowling when he first arrived at St. Joes in the 1950's as a young priest. An image that sticks in my mind was him playing Basketball with some boys on the playground at the School. I remember how young he looked compared to the other priests I knew at the time. RIP Father for a life well-lived in the service of Christ.

I remember rev. Dowling very well as a student at ST Joseph School. He was an inspiration. May he rest in Peace.

If all priests had been like you.....
