Saddened by the passing of John. A time for reflection, remembrance of shared moments at Nobles, heartfelt prayers and hugs for his family and all who loved him.

My condolences to the Downey family. John was a good person and sailor. I was lucky to know him. I will miss him.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of John´s sudden passing. My deepest condolences go out to his family. John and I were classmates for 6 years at Nobles, 2 of the original 22 members of the Class of ´78, who started our journey together back in the Fall of `72. We sat next to each other during Morning Assembly all 6 years. His sense of humor got me through many a Long(-winded) Assembly. Condolences to the entire Downey family. I had the pleasure of working with all of the Downey men at Buckley & Scott in Needham, MA many years ago, and have many fond memories of John. He was a great boss & friend, & his memory will be something I carry always.
