Not sure what to say?

Rest in Peace, Sensei. There will never be another one like you. My sincerest condolences to his wife Karen, his family and friends.

Karen & family, I´m so very sorry to hear of John´s passing. Please know our thoughts & prayers are with you Karen & your whole family. Much love to you Kevin & Joanie DeChick

Sensei Drouin was my karate instructor back in the eighties. He had a gift for teaching. I have fond memories of those classes as do many of my fellow students. Rest in peace Sensei

John was such a personality. My husband, Tony, enjoyed his friendship so much. A guy coming from not very much, but through hard work made a good life. We owe it to John for talking Tony into buying our business building and then, our house 45 years ago. I remember the Oak Ridge Rd. home and John’s other great talent when he developed the beautiful gardens and decorating of his home. I still smile when I think of him, and I’m so grateful for his ‘presence’ in our journey.

Karen...

John was Shihan to many of his students at his dojo . He could be tuff on you in his class but in some ways it was a put on. The reason I say that is because this is one of my favorite memories of John, my daughter Keri was maybe 6 or 7 he showed his tuff side when she didn't do the right thing he said if you don't get it right I'm going to put you on the nuntai bow ,tears came out from Keri right away Shihan showed his caring side and ran over to her and gave Keri a big hug. Our family...

Karen, and family,I'm so sorry to hear the loss of John,my thoughts and prayers are with you all .!

John was my karate instructor at the YMCA in the late 70´s and early 80´s. Strict discipline, and very tough training! But the lessons my fellow students and I had learned from it would last an entire lifetime. Because of this, I will always have fond memories of Sensei Drouin. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of his friends and family. May he Rest in Peace

I will always remember you fondly Shihan, prayers to your family.

RIP Sensei Drouin.
