Not sure what to say?

Mr Drysdale was my Orchestra teacher from 7th grade through 10th grade. I played violin. I wasn´t very good. I took my violin home every weekend but I never practiced. One day Mr Drysdale said to me "I know you take your violin home every weekend, do you practice every weekend?" I wanted to lie and say yes but I knew Mr Drysdale already knew I didn´t practice as I never improved. So I said no. He looked at me and very calmly said "I thought so." Then he said to me, "Amy, you don´t...

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

John Drysdale was a mentor and a friend, both to me and my family. He was one of my favorite people to be around, for his kindness, sharp wit, his wonderful sense of humor and his dedication to his students. I will remember his funny sayings, his "lamb's eye" (quite impressive to a kid), and his ability to make people laugh with his gentle ( but very funny) humor. John, say hi to Betty for me?

When I think of Uncle John it is with love and affection. He kept me (and everyone else around) laughing with his jokes and simply the humor of life. I always believed Uncle John and Aunt Betty had the perfect life, the perfect marrage, the perfect home and so on. They are together again, to continue they're perfect love.

I had met with Uncle John only a handful of times in my life, but he was pretty cool ... it's easy to picture him whistling or singing for no particular reason; that's somewhat of a Drysdale family trait. Cousins Robert and Christine, we're sad for your loss.

So sorry to hear of John's passing. He was a true friend and colleague. I worked with John from 1965 until he retired from Medford School District. He was a very fine director and had very fine musical groups. Had a great sense of humor and if you named a subject, he would come up with a joke about that subject. He was a true friend and will be missed.

So very sad to hear of Mr. Drysdale´s passing. He was a wonderful human being. Very gentle, thoughtful and kind to me always. He now has a home in Heaven, conducting the best orchestra

A great influence on my life. John´s absolute confidence in my abilities in music (and I was his horn soloist for a major high school concert) helped me to become better then, and it is something I try to give to my own university students in a 32-year (so far) career. How important was he to me? I invited him to the celebration of my best Medford teachers when I completed my doctorate. As one of my contemporaries wrote me this morning, we were blessed to know him.
