Not sure what to say?

Susan and Johns family: Sorry so late to grieve a good, honest and hard-charging guy like John-My lifeline has taken me way out of context...John and I met at CNCO school at Ft McClellan AL and became good workmates at FT Riley (MAX Block called C block) where trust and integrity was king, I trusted John and know others did too. We worked LE in Wichita at the same time and our paths crossed sparingly; much to my shame, to learn JD had passed. I was not surprised to learn he passed while...

Susan and family;
I just learned about John's death. I remember John coming into Dr. Wastubi's office when I was working with there with you. Since my husband Mario was a police officer too we had a lot in common. So sorry. You are in our prayers.

John I just learned of your passing today 4-21-14. I cried until I lost my voice. I remember the first day we met in 1993 when you were called to our house for me being a rebellious sixteen year old. You set me straight with tough love. Ever since a child, I wanted to be a Wichita Police Officer. You strongly affirmed my desire. I became a Wichita Police Explorer at the age of sixteen and rode with you out in the police car twice a weekend when we were only suppost to ride only once a...

Hey Johnny.Saw you in a dream last night. You were across the street and it looked like you were on the neighbors roof. When you called my name and I asked you what you were doing. You said you were going camping! The waxing moon was behind you and you were just so happy. And then you were gone again. Crazy stuff. We all still miss you.

im sorry about your loss i used to say hi to officer duff when he worked on the south side he was a good influence on a lot of people i had a lot of respect for him he will be missed

More than a month has passed since Johnny went home to Heaven and I still have trouble believing it.

Reading all the comments here makes it clear how important Johnny was to so many people. I've always thought once he met someone, Johnny felt somehow responsible for them from then on - and isn't that exactly the kind of person the world needs more of?

In addition to his super-sized heart for people in need, Johnny was . . . umm . . . well, I know I'm not the only "victim" of...

Dear Dorothy and Susan and Family,
I was so saddened to hear of your loss. I really liked John and he was always a comfort to all of us when Dan was having a surgery. The world is missing a great man but I am sure the his Uncle Dan is happy to see him again. They are soaring together in Heaven.

Susan, Ashley, Christopher,
Johnny is truly missed by each and everyone of his brothers and sister. I Loved him dearly. He is honored in my house as a true hero, both for his Military service as well as his public service in the Police Dept. I SALUTE HIM with the slow hand salute. I sound 21 guns in tribute to Johhny. May the wind fill his sails, and the seas be smooth, Through out all eternity with Christ. God Bless you all.....

May God Bless you and keep you in...
