John A. Dulin, age 68, lost his tee time on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Agrace HospiceCare Inc. in Fitchburg after a short battle with cancer. John was born on July 16, 1943 in Iowa City, Iowa and was the son of John and Evelyn (Hawkins) Dulin. He married Sandra Dennis on March 13, 1976 in Davenport, Iowa. John graduated from the University of Iowa and earned an MBA at St. Ambrose in Iowa. He was President of Samuels Recycling for 24 years. He is survived by his wife, Sandy; 2 daughters, Tracy Hoppman of Waterloo, Stacey Dulin of Sun Prairie; 3 grandchildren, Brooke Dulin of Sun Prairie, Dylan and Isabelle Hoppman of Waterloo; father and mother-in-law, Harry and Bea Dennis of Sun Prairie and a brother and sister in Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents. John's wishes were to have a private service. John, Sandy and family would like to thank all of his friends for maintaining contact and involvement throughout his journey. Their actions were appreciated and will be remembered. John believed that anything over a story or a shot at a bar once would be a waste of time so hold the sorrow hold the tears the big guy lived 68 damn good years. "Golf clubs for sale." John was my best childhood friend. We had lost touch over the years and I was
saddened when learning of his passing. He was a good friend when we were in
grade school at University Elementary school in Iowa City.He always had a fantastic sense of humor and a smile for everyone. My condolences to his family.
