Not sure what to say?

I just came across this Obituary for Mr. Durkin today, 8/25/23. Mr. Durkin hired me at Stouffer´s in the mid 1970´s and he was the most wonderful man and boss that a person could have. He was kind, gentle and fair. All of us in Human Resources loved and respected him and his lovely secretary, Arla. I had a career in a different field after I left Stouffer´s to raise a family and I am now retired. But my time working for Mr. Durkin will always be dear to me and I think of our team...

It´s hard to find the words. Our dad passed away this morning. Such an incredible father, husband, grandfather (Pop Pop), brother, brother in law, uncle and son so strong and loving. We were all blessed for the 88 years he had on this earth. He was our biggest cheer leader and patriarch of our family. He served God, his country (Navy veteran) and his family. He adored his wife, kids, daughter in law, son in law and grandchildren and treated friends like family. He was my biggest...

Dear Peggy, I am so very sorry to hear about Jack's recent passing. What a tremendous life he had!! I will always remember his warm smile and the Irish glint in his eye. Jack always had a way of kindness about him, which was very special. I know he will be missed sorely by all who knew him. Please know that YOU and your family are in my prayers during this difficult time. Sending much love always, Jennifer (Rogers) Spencer

Peg, we have not seen each other in quite awhile but When I saw Jack´s death notice, I wanted you to know that I am praying for you and all those who loved Jack. I am sure this is a time of many emotions. My prayer for you and your family is that you are blessed with peace and comfort and that you feel the loving support of those around you. God bless you! I remember the happy and kind smile that Jack had whenever I saw him. Peace be with you! Nora Beach

Dear Peggy and Family We are praying at this sad time not for only Jack but you and your whole family. It will bring you strength to sustain you at this tragic time. We know he is at peace, free from pain in the loving arms of Jesus. And we know our "reunion" will be a blast. Hedy and Chuck Fye (JCU '61)

I worked at Stouffer´s when Jack was Director of Human Resources. I was in management, so I dealt with Jack frequently. He was a great manager. Rest in peace, Jack.

Jack was born and raised in Ambridge PA as part of a close-knit Irish family. This instilled in him a very strong love of all things Irish which was passed on to future generations through yearly family reunions. He was a proud Navy veteran(Radioman) and John Carroll University alumnus and Glee Club member. Jack built a career as a Human Resource professional working at several large corporations in the Cleveland area, ultimately retiring from Stouffer´s/Nestle in Solon. He also was an...
