Not sure what to say?

Today is the 15th year since my dear friend and mentor John Dutcher passed away. I got my black belt from Dutch on August 24, 1973. Dutch had a huge and positive impact on my life. He ranks as the most important influence in my life after my father. What I learned from him changed my life and there is never a day that goes by that I don´t think of him. I had the great honor to eulogize him at the beautiful celebration of life luncheon that Alexis Thomas/Dutcher had for him at Quantico. Rest...

Once again, I have to say it was a great benefit to me that I met and trained with Jack Dutcher! Another friend, John St. Peter also was a peer student friend of Jack. Behind us stood Jhoon Rhee yet another wonderful talented man. I am and was very lucky to have the influence of these three talented and wonderful men. I learned a lot from them. greg harrison, PhD. P.E. and 4th degree Kukkiwon black belt. After getting black belt from Master Rhee, LOL, I started over via Kukkiwon School...

JD was an exceptional individual and taught me and many others in the Jhoon Rhee Institute. A very tough man with a very high level skill set in the Martial Arts. To David Barry: I gave you dad many lessons and met him when he first joined Rhee studio. A very strong man and impressive athlete. He was a good hearted and kind man. I am now 4th degree in Kukkiwon TKD and study with Master Jin Kim, Gaithersburg, MD.

one of my best friends learned martial arts and had great times

My father (Robert (Bob) Barry) was good friends with Dutch. He would come over to our house at times driving his Blue convertible Vette. He was such a great guy and one we idolized. My father was a 3rd Dan in TKD and also trained at Jhoon Rhee. He would workout with John and also help train at a studio somewhere in Bethesda or Silver Spring. I'll never forget him. He and my dad are probably enjoying each other's company in Heaven! RIP John and Semper Fi!

Happy birthday Dutch! Think about you every year around this time. Thanks for the great memories, interesting conversations at work and most importantly your time! Semper Fi!

I miss you every day Daddy. I wish you could have met your only Grandson who proudly bears your name. He would have been the apple of your eye. Xxx

Dutch had a personality larger than life and was truly fearless. He had a huge positive impact on all of his children, and everyone he met by staying that fearlessness. From his encouragement, I finally earned a PhD. Thank you Dad.

You will never be forgotten Dutch! You were quite an influence on me!
