Not sure what to say?

Our deepest sympathy, Janet.

John and I shared only a brief time together during what we both proclaimed to be one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives. We were Camp Premier liasons for FEMA and Habitat for Humanity at Camp Premier in St. Bernard Parish, New Orleans.

I remember John as an engaging, friendly, good-natured, genuinely good person, and am proud to have shared a small but important part of his life.

I just heard of John's passing and wanted to
express condolences. I spent many hours with John at his house on Lindberg Drive in Lansing during our growing up years. We enjoyed listening to records of the 50's hits in his upstairs room and on his big hi fi downstairs.

Janet and family, I'm sorry for your loss. John lived down the street from my grandparents and even as a child I found him nice and always interesting, full of ideas. Memories came back when his nephew went to the school where I taught, and Jim would be around and I'd ask about John. it's wonderful to read of his accomplishments, but not at all surprising: truly, "the child is the father to the man" (per Wordsworth).

Dear Janet,

Ed and I did not know your husband. His obituary certainly captures the uniqueness of a man who lived a wonderful life and made a difference through his many contributions.

Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time. Sending positive thoughts and a hug from Joan.

Deepest sympathy.
