In Fowlers Nursing Center, Guilford, Wednesday, July 22, 2009, John Dynia Col. US Army Ret., 90, of 86 Mungertown Rd, Madison, CT. Husband of Phyllis Madzak Dynia. Father of John W. Dynia of El Paso, TX and Thomas A. Dynia of Austin, TX.

Mr. Dynia spent his career in the military serving in the US Army. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He spent time in Iceland engaging German aircraft and served in the European Theater in Crossing of the Rhine, Rhineland and Battle of the Bulge. He received four Battle Stars and was wounded at Metz, France. He was also a member of the Order of St. Barbara.

Funeral from the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St Guilford, Saturday, July 25, 2009. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 10am in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday, July 24 from 4 to 6pm. Burial in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, CT. Donations in memory of Mr. Dynia may be made to Friends of Gettysburg, PO Box 4629, Gettysburg, PA 17325 (friendsofgettysburg.org).
