Not sure what to say?

Ed and Ella were special friends of my parents, Pat and Erland "Ole" Hanson since 1941 in Ashfork, AZ. Mother and I are sad to learn of Ed's passing, and we hope that of the family is sustained by his faith.

I served in the early 80"s in the San Jose, Costa Rica mission, I never met President and Sister Eager but I met a lot of members who always spoke very high of them, he left a big legacy in our country, may the Lord bless the Eager family and thank you for all you love for our countries.

I knew John only as "President Eager" as a young freckle-faced missionary in the Costa Rica, San Jose mission. I remember President Eager as steady handed, even tempered, and incredibly perceptive. I've never met anyone who could stare down trouble and watch it scurry away like he could. His secret weapons were a large frame matched by an equally large smile and unflinching faith that all would be well.

I have no doubt that all is well where ever he is now.

I am saddened to know that this world lost the presence of a great man. John Eagar was my mission president and I will always remember his fervent testimony that resonated with his big husky voice to match the strength of his conviction.
I remember one particular zone conference when he prophesied that we needed to work diligently to find converts because “the day would soon come that the gospel’s future would rest in their hands.” Only a few years later, with the take-over of...

Gwenna and family, Brenda (Holt) and I are saddened to hear of Ed's passing (always "President Eagar" to us). He was truly a wise and wonderful man. When I worked with him in the Central America mission office, he helped me through some difficult times-- I felt he knew me better than I knew myself. He will always have a prominent place in our memories.

We've lost a great man. We will miss him and his wonderful influence in our lives. Gwena, thank you for being so good to Ed and not only a good friend to Mom and Dad (Karl and Grace) but to us kids also. Tony and Clayton, we are sorry for your loss. He was like a father to many of us.
Best wishes,
Larry and Adri Burk and family
