Not sure what to say?

So sorry to find that John has passed on. I´ve been wondering about him. He was a hard working, gifted journalist who was gave me my first big break at National Geographic. I was always grateful for that and I used to send him his favorite whiskey Johnny Walker Blue each Christmas. I had lost contact with him and was hoping to reconnect to rekindle my appreciation but alas he´s here no more. Thank you John for all you did for me at the magazine. Rest in Peace my friend.

I knew John for three years when we were students at Indiana State University. He and William F. Crook were dear friends and we had great times together. I followed his career closely and was delighted to hear and read of his successes. He was one of a kind.

Dear Friends, Thank you to those of you who have chosen to donate via this website, it is a lovely gesture. But for those of you who are reading this now please know that John's wishes were the following, as stated in the obituary: "In lieu of flowers or donations, Anna asks that you follow the example of this sensitive and kind man: "Hold your loved ones close, remind them how beautiful they are, and tell them how much you love them-every day."" With love from John's Family

A brilliant, compassionate, and generous man has left this world, yet memories of, and with, him keep him near. May his...
