Not sure what to say?

Dear Clarice,

I was in Harrisburg last week on business and didn't read until over the weekend your Dad has passed away. He was a close friend of the Sullivan family, which is my Mother, Mary Margaret's family. My Mother passed away last November. I remember him being close to my Great Uncle Cal and Betty Sullivan. He gave me a job in college at the Edinboro gym. John was a great guy and always was kind to me. I'll keep him in my prayers.

Jeffrey Johnson & Richard Johnson...

Sue,
Our deepest sympathy on the passing of John. He was a very dedicated person especially to his family and those in the sports areas. He umpired my first high school game and always did a good job.

Rich & Marie Matlak

Susie...My deepest sympathy to you at this very sad time. My parents and your parents sure had a great deal of fun over their years.
Marge DelPorto
(John & Rose Comi's daughter)

To the family...our acquaintance with John was through sports...mostly baseball and we had a close relationship with him, even when we gave him a hard time when he was officiating... he was a very dedicated person to his job, and i know he enjoyed it...he'll be hard to replace in any part of your lives...our very deepest sympathy to you and yours...May God Bless you all.

Sue,
My sympathy to you & the family. You father was a mentor to my brother & I approaching us about the avocation to be a sports official in baseball and football. The one thought that I will always carry with me is that he stated 'your out there because you're respected, capable of doing the job, and that's why you are there'. I know when my parents became ill they did appreciate what my sister, & brother, and myself did the countless hours of caring -sacrificies and I am sure as well...

Dear Sue... So sorry to learn of your Dad's passing...Your Mom and Dad were so very fortunate to have such a great daughter always being there for them...
Our thoughts and prayers are with you... Karyn & Cliff Shaffer

Sue,

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Your dad was the person who got my brother and I interested in becoming sports officials in baseball and football. He was a mentor as well to many other officials in sports. I know that your dad appreciated all the little things you did for him over the years. As an official, I have very good memories of him umpiring some of the games I played in and later on working with him as a fellow official. I truly believe he was appreciative of...

Sue,
I am so sorry for your loss. Your father was one of a kind. My parents and I thought the world of him. I am glad to have been able to meet your parents and you.

As a fellow old newsie I would like to extend my sympathy to John's family. He will be missed dearly but forever live on in the strength of the heart
