John C. Edwards

John C. Edwards, 78, of Virginia Beach, passed away at his home on August 22, 2022. He was born in Oakland, Calif., the only son of Virginia L. Edwards and Charles W. Edwards.

John was employed at the Dahlgren Naval Base for 27 years and at the Dam Neck Naval Base for 8 years, working on systems development and maintenance. He completed his career as a systems engineer for the Information Services Associates, Inc. He was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary for 17 years and had many interests including boating, fishing, science fiction, and traveling.

John is survived by his daughter, Deborah L. Day of Elkin, N.C. and two grandchildren.

John's life will be honored 1 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2022, at the Sumerduck Ruritan Building.
