Not sure what to say?

John and I served together in the Supply Department on USS Harry E Yarnell (CG17) from 1978 to 1980 John was a tremendous officer and a very good friend. We got through the hard times together. We corresponded regularly over the years. John will be missed. He was always there for a shipmate or a friend.

My sincerest condolences.

I am so sad to read this. John was such a nice guy in high school and a friend to all. I too for some time had wondered what had become of him. Praying for the family ...

John, You were a great friend and co-worker. I'm honored to have known and worked with you. You served as a example of a honest, good, gentle, person, and a shining example for others to follow. You will be missed. May god bless your sole. Rest in peace.

John was an amazing co-worker. God bless your soul.

John was a very good friend in high school and as they mention in the column you won't find a finer gentleman and gentle man than John was. He had no 'ego' and thought of others first. I miss never having the opportunity to get back in contact with him but given his extensive career and numerous locales he would have been pretty much impossible to track back in the day. perhaps he wanted it that way. you will always be respected loved and missed my friend.

I remember John when they lived with his grandparents next door to us. Sometimes we would walk to school together. You will be sadly missed.
