John C. Eilers, 76, passed away at Apache Junction Health Center in Arizona on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 of natural causes. He was born March 22, 1929, in Bellwood Nebraska, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Eilers. John enlisted in the Navy in 1947 and served as a corpsman in the Korean War. John also served on several ships of the Pacific Fleet. He was stationed at the Navy Reserve Training Center in Stockton and received and honorable discharge in 1967. He then worked for the California Youth Authority until his retirement. After retiring, John enjoyed following the Nascar races in his RV, gardening and watching Nebraska football. John is survived by his son Reagan John and daughter-in-law, Martha and their children, Katie and Cory all of Gardnerville, NV. John is also survived by brothers, Al Eilers of Apache Junction, AZ, Ray Eilers of North Bend, WA; sisters, Pearl Barber of Mt. Clemons, MI, Darlene Markwood of Oceanside, CA; and sister-in-law, Mabel Eilers of Mesa, AZ. He is further survived by numerous relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his first wife, June and his second wife, Esther; his two daughters, Cheryl and Allison; two brothers, Hank and Herbert and and infant sister, Leona.

A private burial will be held at a later date at Lodi Memorial Cemetery.
