Read MoreI am sitting here in shock. I just had lunch with John in July and was trying to reach him only to discover he has passed. He was such a good friend and I will love him always. I am truly heartbroken. To his wife and family, I am so sorry for the loss of such a wonderful man. He told me about all of you over the years and his love for his family showed in every story.

I am saddened to hear of John's death. I will always have memories of the Elder and Popick kids getting together because our parents were partying. It could be in the backyard pool in Eugene, or just the Popicks backyard BBQ. My condolences to the entire Elder family. Lynda popick Searcy
