We first became acquainted as high school students (me from SHA and Jack from St. X) all interested in working on a Pride Week float for the rivalry with Trinity... Fast forward decades later and 1 of my kiddos needed a consult and there was Dr. Eldridge, barely aged at all. We exchanged some nostalgic laughs and he helped my kiddo. Fast forward to when God called Jack home...my birthday, 2004. It broke my heart to learn of his passing and ironically on my birthday. Hoping he knows what...

Ever since meeting during during Pride Week 1973 working on the St. X. Float, I always remembering you laughing and smiling. Once you returned to Louisville, your professional expertise was most appreciated. Every year on my 4/20 birthday, since 2004, I can't help but remember you and praying you are sending good thoughts for us mere mortals!

It took my breath away to find out today that Dr. Eldridge had died. I worked in Day Surgery at Egleston, and loved seeing his smiling face. It was great to watch him put families at ease. I was on the receiving end when my son broke his collar bone and I got to be "the parent". I just wanted to let you know I was thinking of your family and praying for you as you have just passed your first Thanksgiving without him. He was a wonderful person.

I just learned of Dr. Eldridge's death by reading some misplaced mail. 3 years ago on Dec. 26th 2001 my 3 sons and I were in a terrible auto accident, my 9 yr. old son Ricky was seriously hurt. He almost lost his left foot. He was flown from Charleston,WV to Louisville, where Dr. Eldridge took excllent care of him.
Because of this wonderful Dr. and person Ricky is able to walk today. His talent was truly a gift from God. He will be greatly missed by all that he helped. Our thoughts and...

To Dr. Jack's family and staff: We had been living out of town and just returned to Louisville and heard the news about Dr. Eldridge. I am so very sorry about his passing. He took care of both of my boys for broken bones and was truly gifted in dealing with kids (and parents). You are in our thoughts and prayers. The Otten Family.

I just learned of Dr. Eldridge's passing after calling for my son's yearly xrays. I just wanted to share my story.....
When my son was born on February 7, 2004 he had a severe click in his hip. Within days we were in Dr. Eldridge's office. I was a new mother and the thought of something being wrong with my baby was totally overwhelming. By the time my husband and I had left the office Dr. Eldridge's compassion and humor had dried my tears. He had taken the time to explain the next six...

My deepest sympathy to you and your family on the passing of Dr. Eldridge. He touched my son's life briefly but profoundly and helped us to get Rob diagnosed with a form of juvenile arthritis. His compassion and expertise will be greatly missed.

May 26, 2004 would have been our 25th wedding anniversary. Instead of being sad, I intend to spend the day celebrating all the great things Jack accomplished in his life. Reading these entries is an excellent first step. Thank you for sharing your appreciation of Jack. And please remember the Jack Eldridge COOL Kids Fund, one way his memory can live forever.
