John R. "Ronnie" Engelbrecht, 69, of Evansville, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at his residence. He was born Jan. 13, 1939, in Rockport, Ind.
Ronnie was known as "The Kid" when he played on the 1954 Rockport Basketball Sectional Championship team.

Read MoreO.K. and I were so sorry to learn of the passing of my cousin, Ronnie. We were unable to attend his memorial service due to our health. Coming from a small family we were extra close as cousins. I'm a few years older, saw him grow up, and babysat Ronnie and Bob a time or two when they were just little boys. What a corker he was! We stayed in touch over the years, and he will be missed.
