Coach Erickson tried to recruit me to play basketball for the University of Wisconsin in 1964. I had a wonderful trip to Madison from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was treated extremely well for the entire weekend. I narrowed the college offers down to UW and the Virginia Military Institute. John and Polly were marvelous Christians who reflected God's love in every way in their daily lives. They were just good to be around. Barbara and I well remember their friendship.
