Not sure what to say?

Still can't believe he is gone. What a wonderful man. Did have the pleasure of meeting his brother Joe at the Women's National NAIA Basketball Tournament in Billings. We had some good laughs and talked about our Basque heritage. Still would love to make a trip to that country someday? Rest in Peace John. Mary and Dan Wagner

Although John and I had only a few run-ins after his days at Carroll he was the same John Etchart that I grew up with in Glasgow, kind, friendly and always very up beat.
During our days at St. Raphael's were played basketball together and spent many an afternoon going through his baseball card collection.

I had no idea that John was sick or I would surely have gone to see him. I know how close the entire Etchart family has been over the years and this must be a devastating loss to...

How wonderful to see the success that John made of his life. My condolences to his family. I attended grade school with John at St. Raphael's in Glasgow.

I am deeply saddened to read about John's death.

I worked for him at Northern Tier Pipeline Company in Billings and soon learned there was never a kinder, more attentive person anywhere.

May the incredible memories of a life well lived be a comfort to all the family.

We are very sorry for your loss . It is interesting reading about John's interests and accomplishments. Wish people like him could live till 100. We are thinking about all of you.

I first met John when he tried to recruit me out of Glasgow to attend Carroll College in 1986 and again in 20 years later in Washington DC by chance when we both had an appointments to visit with Senator Baucus in Washington DC. I had my young son with me on the trip and he said "maybe I can get him to attend Carroll instead." He was very genuine guy and even after 20 years of not speaking it felt like we had just left off. Sending the entire Etchart family our prayers during this difficult...

John Etchart was one of the first people we met when Dan and I took our oldest son Gary to Carroll College. Immediately we felt a connection to this school and this Carroll Family through this wonderful man. We talked about our Basque heritage as I was one of the 15 Hasquet's from Shelby. Every time we ran into John, he always took the time to stop and visit. He was one of the kindest, sweetest, amazing people I have ever met. Please know that you and your family are in all our thoughts and...

Sorry for the loss of your brother, Michele. His life sounds amazing. He will be in our prayers.
