ETUE, John ?Jack? - Of Flint, age 83, died Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Monday, February 16, 2015
at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, G5199 Richfield Road, Flint,

Father George V. Puthenpeedika officiating.

Cremation will take place following the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hurley Childrens Foundation.

Visitation 2-8pm Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A VFW #822 Memorial Service will be held at 6pm Sunday evening at the funeral home with a Knights of Columbus, Council #695 Memorial Service immediately following A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Sunday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Etue will be at the church 10am Monday until the time of the Mass.

John was born in Flint on May 20, 1931. On September 3, 1955, he married Jo-Ann Ducharme in Bay City, Michigan. Jack served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of VFW Post #822. Jack was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He worked for AC Spark Plug for over 40 years.

Surviving are wife, Jo-Ann;

children, Lori and husband Jamie Etue-Carl, Thomas and wife Michelle, Jay and wife Susan Cannon, Doug and wife Arlene Cannon of Colorado, Wayne Cannon, Jack Cannon and Brad Cannon;

grandchildren Marina and Joshua;

and brother, Vincent ?Ralph? and wife Mary.

He was preceded in death by son, James, parents, five brothers and 5 sisters.

Aunt J0 and Family.. Uncle Jack and Ralph had a big influence on my Life. Their positive attitude and encouragement meant a lot to me. Many don't even know that Uncle Jack was on of the best baseball and football of all time in Flint. Hit Monster home runs. Proud to be an Etue..Love you all RON ETUE

Very sorry to hear of your dads passing Lori. My deepest sympathy to you and your entire family. We might not have seen each other or spoken in years, but I remember your father very well.

Thanks Uncle Jack for Laughing, Crying n Coughing like my Dad, your Brother, Ray. I Loved your Jokes and Stories you would tell at the Hubers Yearly Gathering. You Always had a Smile n you made us Smile. Especially Uncle Ralph that would laugh even though the story or joke wasent completed. Thank you.

I didn't know Jack very well but I do know his brother my Uncle Ralph and can't imagine he wasn't as wonderful as Ralph is. My deepest condolences and wishing Jack a safe and warm journey home.
