I had the privilege of serving with John in the Navy. He referred to himself as John Evans,"The Kid." He constantly reminded me of Philly being #1. After we graduated from our training at Great Lakes, we went different ways. Then on Sunday I was reading our South Dakota Firefighter and E.M.T. thoughts, where John's name appeared.
