Not sure what to say?

I had a roommate in Weatherford Hall at OSU. His musical talent was the part that made me think of John. I traded him a guitar I had refinished. He especially liked the sound quality. I especially liked him playing "Classical Gas" in the enclosed stairwell. The acoustics of the stairwell and that guitar were fantastic. I hope he had a good life!! It sounds like he had a great family.

John´s family lived 4 houses away on 38th street. When we were kids playing one morning John walked to our mutual corner and we met. He exclaimed "Doug did you hear that beautiful bird song this morning." I admitted no, but the air was quiet in those days so he tuned me in to the bird songs I still hear today. I never forgot who he was just being himself to others. "Listening to natures music brings joy" was his childhood message that morning. Every time thereafter when we met at reunions...

I´m so sorry to hear of your loss. I was a neighbor and playmate of the Ewing children when they lived on Marquam Hill.

John was part of our Octet crew at Grant High School. He was truly a polite, friendly and gentle soul. My sympathies to his entire family.

I went to grade school and high school with John. He was a quiet guy and so smart. He sometimes came to our Beaumont monthly breakfast and it was fun to reconnect. Our Beaumont Class of '63 and Grant class of '67 will miss our friend. Our sincere condolences to his family, whom he spoke of so lovingly. Kathleen Cormack Ames

I send my condolences to John's family. I have fond memories of John and his parents Frank, Sr. and Kathryn when living on Fern Place in Lake Oswego.

Great friend. Will miss you John. Warm smile.

I miss you Dad; miss our talks, your unpredictability, conviction, unwavering love, sound of your voice and music filling any house you walked into that had a piano! Love you.
