I worked with John during his tenure at the American Iron and Steel Institute in Washington, DC, during the early 1990's. His deep, hearty laugh was truly one of a kind. Dear Joan and Mel: Although I met John on only two occasions, we seemed to develop real empathy, probably because we both attended Syracuse University (1948-1952) and were part of the US Armed Services during the Korean War (US Army 1953-1955). I grieve for you and extend my deepest sympathies to you, your Mother, and your wonderful children - Sam Goekjian

Our most sincere condolences on the passing of Mr. Farley. It was my pleasure to work for him for several years at LTV Steel. He was always a gentleman and very respectful to all who worked with him. Our prayers and thoughts go out to Dorothy and the family.
