Not sure what to say?

Peg, I don't know if you remember me, but I certainly remember fondly our years in A2 in the 70's. You and John were so important and supportive as we navigated Don getting his doctorate. Your kindness and warmth were never forgotten and I have been remiss in not acknowledging this until now. What a long and fulfilling life you both have led filled with a multitude of love for one another, your girls and their children, and then passed along to so many young men and women over these years....

Dear Melanie and Family, Although our encounters with your dad we´re limited to a brief visit or two in Traverse City, it is evident what impact he had on all of you and others around him. The care you all took to make those trips memorable and to make accommodations for him to be comfortable are evidence of how special he was to you. The fond memories that you made together are sure to help you navigate through these sometimes sad and difficult days ahead. Know that we are thinking of all...

Peg my sympathy to you and family for your loss. I first met John at Western University when I helped him with the swim team and he lectured several courses that I took. Later, I was his first doctoral student at Michigan. I particularly remember the summer of 66 when he took the lab to Alamosa Colorado for a month to study the effects of altitude on the olympic team for 1968 . He was a very important inspiration in my career. I appreciated his help and guidance in those formative years. ...

One of my favorite professors and a man I saw as a role model.

Melanie, I remember how deeply you held your father´s presence in your life. I am hoping that memory will sustain you at this time. Please also give your mom my condolences. Love, Judy

Peg, we were saddened to read about John this morning. What a great guy he was, loved and admired by so many. Know that you are struggling with this loss but hopefully your many memories of your many years together will sustain you through this rough period. Our hearts go out to you,
