Not sure what to say?

I am saddened to hear of my good friend Hugo's passing. He and I shared so many common interests as fellow Boyd House Iowa State mechanical engineers. In 1971 he even joined me for a summer in Williams Bay, WI where I helped him secure a job with me servicing boats and marine engines. He was such a fast learner that the marina asked him to return the following summer while I was in the Army. He was welcomed as part of our family while staying at our house on Lake Geneva. Today I happened to...

How sad! What a bizarre and tragic accident. Like Neil, I am also a fellow pilot and understand the joy of flying, and there is perhaps a little comfort in knowing that John was doing something he loved to do. I remember John from our shared time in Paullina, and in school at Zion Lutheran and Paullina High School. I remember Edna cooking our noon meals for school at Zion. I remember Nancy, Fred, and Mike. As typically happens, we shared experiences growing up and then we lose track of...

Jeanne, we are so very sorry to learn of Hugo's sudden accident and passing. We heard about the accident but just found out from friends today that the pilot was Hugo. We are very sorry for your loss and offer our deepest sympathy to you and yours. May God bless you with some sense of peace during this time of sorrow and also into the future to help you get through this sad time. Know our thoughts and prayers are with you. Sincerely...

it is not ours to know the time and place on our
path of life when we will be welcomed to eternity.
In the short period of years that I have had the honor
to meet and work with John i have come to understand the greatness and human dedication that this man named JOHN possessed. I am proud
to call him my friend. A professional and
gentleman. GOD SPEED MY FRIEND
Dick Huxford

Our sympathy and prayers to the Fiddelke families. Such a tragic loss. God's Blessings to you all!

The Ken Pauling Family

John and I worked together on several projects when he was with Great Lakes Pulp & Fiber and Georgia Pacific. A true professional and a salt of the Earth guy who I always looked forward to working with and trusted deeply. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I attended Zion Lutheran with John. He was a year ahead of me but at Zion, there were always 2 grades to a room. He was a good person and a great athlete. I did however, beat him in arm wrestling once and only once. John was a good son, and a good friend. Thank you God for John.

Sister (Melinda) just called and told me the news. Some things just aren't right!! As a fellow pilot, I know the joy and peace of flying. As a childhood friend of John, this sad event brought back all the fun we "backyard sharing" neighborhood kids had. We would play "Steal sticks", "Capture the flag", "Red Rover", "Kick the can", plain old "Hide & seek" and had enough of us to make our own circus production. We had great times. A "Circle of Friends" would describe us well. At least we...

I'll miss most Hugo's big "bear hug" when he saw me and that warm smile saying "how are you doing"? Aways a pleasure to be with, and great "Adventuring Club" ideas. Thank you Hugo! Tina Dieterich
