John Fillner

MISSOULA - John C. Fillner, 41, died of natural causes on Saturday, October. 17, 2009, at his home in Missoula.

He was born June 25, 1968, to Russell K. and D. Jane Fillner in Billings. John was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. He was the youngest of Russ and Jane's five children. John graduated from Billings Senior High in 1986, the University of Montana in 1990, and the University of Montana Law School in 1998. He was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. John loved the practice of law. He believed in the justice system and worked to find an equitable solution for his clients.

He is survived by his parents, Russ and Jane Fillner of Ronan, formerly of Billings; brothers, Clifford (Bev) Fillner, William Fillner (Debra Martin) and Russ (Colleen) Fillner; sister Myrna (Bud) Ridenour; nephews, Matt and Pat Fillner and James Ridenour; nieces, Kristi Fillner, Kelly Farnsworth and Myrna Rae Ridenour; and numerous great nieces and nephews. John will be missed by his family of friends in Missoula and the surrounding area, and by his two dogs and three cats. John, we know that you are in a place where it's always sunny, you always make a hole-in-one, and Flint and Amber are by your side. Be at peace.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October. 24, at Garden City Funeral Home
