John Joseph Flynn

He was simply the finest legal mind I've ever encountered in almost 40 years of practicing law. As a teacher, he had the extraordinary ability to make us really want to consider radically new ideas -- a very hard thing to achieve with law students or anybody else. Beyond that, he was also an extraordinary human being, one who was always willing to listen, to extend himself on behalf of others, to do the right thing. He is much missed, and those of us who were lucky enough to learn from him...
