Not sure what to say?

so. it is. 11 years, John. touched so. many lives, it is a true gift to. be given a life that contacts so many young lives, I celebrate his life with his family. and students. George

It amazes me what the effects of a fine teacher can have on people's lives, even those he never met. Now retired I am working as a remote professor of mathematics and physics at the American University of Afghanistan in Kabul teaching remote classes that are mostly young women. John's lessons, spirit and sense of wonder are reaching around the world. Obe life touches so many.

He was a seminal figure in my education. He performed that function for many. I drink to you the parting glass, the finest Irish ballad ever written. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7PQooSn8OI

An Evening Prayer

I will put my body down
and rest it here
in the dark
and
in the darkness of this night
i will go out
to where

white daisies rustle in
the milkwhite mist
before the plow bites.

There I will abide.
