Not sure what to say?

Karen & family,I first met John in September of1976,he was four year's older as we worked together for many year's at several different school's.Both he and Ray Sunday, also a great friend of John's helped me understand the reality of being an educator in today's world.Without his helpful assistance, I would not have ever remained in the profession. He had a special way about him, that let you feel everything was going to work out alright,I feel privileged to known him.He will be missed and...

My classroom was across the hall from John's at G.A.R. He was such a good guy
and a great teacher, animated and full of ideas. And so excited about the move to Tennessee. I was shocked and
so saddened to read that he had passed.
I still have all his mother's Christmas
cookie recipes. My sincere condolences
to John's family. I will always remember him.

What a great man we lost here...one of my favorite teachers because he genuinely cared about his students..my thoughts and prayers to his family at this difficult time, I will never forget talking about the super bowl each year saving him...rest in peace Mr Franchella

I'm so sorry for your loss. John was one of my dads best friends and took care of my Dad, which I was very greatful of. John guided me through my dads passing, I couldn't have done it without him :( My prayers are with your family! Karen please know they are hanging out together watching over us! Lots of Love! Karen, I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my heart and in my prayers.

Mr Franchella, I was ruined for anything related to history ( I absolutely hated it), until I was lucky enough to have you as a teacher. Thank you. May you rest in peace. Sending positive thoughts and prayers for you, and all of your family and friends.

My heart goes out to you for your deep loss you must be feeling for your beloved John. How sad to lose someone so loved and so needed. May you find comfort in prayer and in one another. (Jeremiah 29:12,13)

Mr. Franchella was my favorite teacher because he cared about us students, even outside of school and as adults. I stayed in school because of this man, and was grateful to be able to introduce me and my husband Primo Hughes's son to him. I'm deeply saddened by this because Mr. Franchella will greatly be missed. Many prayers to the family.

One of my favorite teachers at G.A.R. God bless.
