Not sure what to say?

I will never know another man that has had more positive impact on so many lives. He certainly has on mine. John has made me a better person. I will miss him tremendously.
I think what our Mayor of Vista had to say about John was very fitting.
"We may not remember everything that John said, nor will we remember everything that he did. What we will remember about John Futrell, is the way he treated people"
How grateful I am to know and have been his friend.

I loved John Larry very much and think of him so often. He will always be a part of some of my most wonderful memories.

John was one of those decent people you meet just a few times in your life who have truly dedicated his life to the service of others. He was a champion for the homeless and underprivileged people and abused children who had no voice. He gave his time and effort to projects that preserved community history and showcased the natural beauty of our cities.

Anyone who has ever known John would tell you that he was genuine in his concern and desire to make his community a better place....

We all lost John through a merciful and peaceful death this summer near the time of his anniversary move to southern California. We've had such fond memories of our lives in the many parts of Louisiana, and of all our friends and relatives there. His friend...Ivy Bodin
